Pawnee

The first pecan variety we harvest each season is Pawnee. Your first taste will tell you that Pawnee is unlike any pecan you've ever tasted. Plump and delicious--in a word, extraordinary. They have a rich taste that makes them ideal for baking.

Kanza

Kanza is an early maturing cultivar pecan with smaller pecans than the Pawnee. Kanza was primarily released for the northern pecan belt because of its superior cold hardiness and early harvest date. 'Kanza' produces approximately sixty-five nuts per pound. It is a round nut that shells easily and has a magnificent flavor.

Gardner

Gardner is a new cultivar that we are selling this year. It is one of the earliest maturing cultivar nuts and is a very mild flavored pecan. It matures in early October and the parent tree is in Gardner KS. "Gardner" produces approximately sixty-five nuts per pound. Its kernels are golden to light brown in color. Unlike the Kanza, the Gardner pecan has fewer halves and more pieces great for baking.

Pricing

Jake Creek Pecans offers pecans in a variety of package sizes. Again this year, we are offering 1/2 pound packages of shelled nuts. This size is great for gift-giving or snacking. It is a wonderful present for family, friends, co-workers, teachers, coaches, babysitters, etc. As always, we will have shelled pecans packaged in 1 pound bags in both Pawnee and Kanza varieties and also in the Gardner variety.

The best selling package is the 2 pound bag of <10% shell> Pawnee pecans. This is the best bang for your bucks, but be warned, you will need to pick out a few small shells!
